THE DETAILS
This is a presale. Production will begin once orders are received. The goal is to ship at the end of 2025. We will give regular updates to customers throughout the first production run, including progress reports and updates on the expected timeline. Please note that this timeline may change due to unforeseen supply chain or production issues.
This is a limited production run. Once we’ve hit our limit, we will disable the shopping cart until we launch the next production run. Our goal here is to step carefully into production, learning more about compatibility, as well as solidifying production and the supply chain.
Disclaimer
We don't warranty that Octals will work or sound good in your amp. There are more amp designs out there than we can test, so maintaining a compatibility warranty would not be possible. Compatibility is not guaranteed.
Here is a list of known incompatibilities:
Amps using 9-pin tubes e.g., Vox AC30, Matchless Lightning, etc.
Single-Ended amps e.g., Fender Champ, Supro Delta King, etc.
Amps using triode-connected power tubes e.g., Mesa Mk
Amps using a different socket pinout than the typical octal pin layout
(ie. Pin 1 - Not Connected or Suppressor, Pin 2 - Filament, Pin 3 - Plate, Pin 4 -Screen, Pin 5 - Grid, Pin 6 - Not Connected, Pin 7 Filament, Pin 8 Cathode) e.g., Amps using the 7591 power tube, Musicman HD 150, etc.
We recommend that you make sure your amp is in good working order. Of all the amps borrowed from folks to test the Octals, initially testing with vacuum tubes, I found about 30% of them had an issue. A blown tube, a blown resistor somewhere, a questionable repair, a creative modification, etc.. If your amp isn't working properly and using all of its power tubes, the remaining Octals will have to work harder than intended. We can't be responsible for any resulting issues.
With gratitude, it's important to acknowledge your support and willingness to use this new product in your beloved tube amps. This first production run will be handled with great care and engagement with those who purchase. We will be available to help with any issues that arise. Our goal is to learn more as these get out into the world and gather feedback from you. If an issue cannot be resolved, we will provide a full refund upon return of the product. For this reason, we are limiting this first run.
Warranty
Octal is warranted against factory defects in materials and workmanship.
